Supporting Australia’s emerging sommeliers
Sommeliers play an important role in the world of wine, and supporting the next generation of Australia’s wine and hospitality sector is a natural extension of our commitment to supporting the future of the industry.
Penfolds Evermore has partnered with Sommeliers Australia as the Major Sponsor for their 2025 Education Scholarship and will be the official Education Parter for Sommeliers Australia for 12 months.
Twelve emerging sommeliers and wine professionals have been selected for the 2025 Education Scholarship, where they come together to take part in a three-day immersive program designed to support the next generation in Australian wine and hospitality.
This partnership will see Penfolds provide scholarships to two sommeliers and support the 12 sommeliers taking part in the program with further learning opportunities that will include tastings, providing Penfolds wines to support learning, tours and attendance at Penfolds Collection Release events.

Two of the 12 participants have been awarded funding for their scholarship under the Penfolds Evermore program. These recipients are:
Eduardo Fritis-Lamora, Head Sommelier at Shell House, New South Wales
Seth Piszczuk, Sommelier at The Crafters Hotel, South Australia
"My first pivotal wine memories all took place at Penfolds, tasting through the barrels that would eventually become the inaugural Yattarna with the late Nevil Falkenberg. I have a lot of history and connection to the brand, so it’s quite comforting to have Penfolds as my supporting backer for this opportunity"
- Seth Piszczuk, Sommelier and 2025 Sommeliers Australia Education Scholarship recipient.
This partnership offers a valuable opportunity to demonstrate our support for the hospitality sector, particularly those who play a key role in educating consumers about wine.
