China Community Program

Penfolds Evermore Announces Partners for China Community Program

Building on the success of grant programs previously delivered in Australia and France, the China Community Program has been designed to create meaningful social and cultural impact through partnership with three local organisations delivering positive outcomes in Ningxia and Yunnan.

Following an extensive consultation and selection process involving both internal and external stakeholders, Penfolds Evermore has selected three partners whose work aligns with the program's strategic priorities of strengthening communities, supporting livelihoods, and preserving cultural heritage.

Supporting Community Development in Ningxia

Ningxia Huimin – Community Capacity Building

Ningxia Huimin is a local non-governmental organisation based in Ningxia, operating under the supervision of the Department of Civil Affairs of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The organisation is dedicated to supporting community development and improving the living environment and wellbeing of residents.

Through the Penfolds Evermore partnership, Ningxia Huimin will deliver initiatives focused on building community capacity and supporting sustainable local development, helping create stronger and more resilient communities across the region.

Improving Rural Livelihoods Through Education and Innovation

China Foundation for Rural Development – New Great Wall Technology Courtyard Program

The China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD) is one of China's leading non-governmental organisations, focused on improving community wellbeing, healthcare access, educational equity, and rural livelihoods.

Through its New Great Wall Technology Courtyard Program, CFRD will deliver activities and initiatives in Qingtongxia, Ningxia, and the Diqing region of Yunnan. The program aims to support rural development by creating opportunities for education, innovation, and sustainable economic growth, helping strengthen local communities and support the environment.

Preserving Cultural Heritage for Future Generations

Master Fu – Ningxia Paper Cutting

Master Fu Zhao'e, a native of Haiyuan County in Ningxia, is a renowned paper-cutting artist and recognised custodian of the traditional art form of Ningxia paper cutting, an important element of China's Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Widely recognised by the Ningxia Government and featured in both Chinese and international media, Master Fu has been honoured as Ningxia's first Folk Arts and Crafts Master and awarded the title of Chinese Folk Arts and Crafts Artist by UNESCO.

The partnership will support the preservation, promotion, and continuation of this unique cultural tradition, ensuring the knowledge and artistry of Ningxia paper cutting can be shared with future generations.

Creating Lasting Impact

The launch of the China Community Program represents an important step in Penfolds Evermore's commitment to supporting communities and culture in the regions we make wine.

By partnering with organisations and individuals who are creating meaningful change, the program aims to support the delivery of lasting outcomes across China over the coming years.
