Champagne Thiénot

A champagne worthy of celebrating our past, present and future.

Since 2019, Penfolds has partnered with family-owned Champagne House Thiénot for our limited release champagnes. This collaboration was first launched to toast 175 years of winemaking experimentation, curiosity and uncompromising quality, taking Penfolds back to France, where Schubert’s early vision for Grange began.

Now in our 180th year, there are five champagnes in the series, including; a vintage Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs, a non-vintage Champagne Rosé and a non-vintage Champagne Cuvée Brut.

The wines represent the joint efforts of Champagne Thiénot chef de cave Nicolas Uriel who together with Penfolds Chief Winemaker, Peter Gago, shared agreed style and quality ambitions. The champagnes are made from grapes sourced from prestigious and highly regarded vineyards in Champagne.

Peter instigated hands-on involvement throughout the tirage storage to create the four extraordinary champagnes in the collection.

"In 2019 we released our first 2012 Champagnes in Paris at The Ritz in the Place Vendôme. In 2023 we’re proudly back to Paris releasing our 2013’s at Hôtel de Crillon in Place de la Concorde. Geographically, professionally & emotionally, we’re just so pleased to be working with Thiénot – how lucky are we?!"
