Magill Estate

Magill Estate, Penfolds spiritual home, stands as one of the few single vineyards in the world located within city boundaries. First planted in 1844, the estate once spanned 120 hectares. Today, amidst urban development, 5.24 hectares remain surrounding Grange cottage, the original home of the Penfold family, and our Cellar Door.

While the vineyard's heritage is steeped in history, it wasn’t until 1983 that Magill Estate Shiraz was produced as a single-vineyard wine. The Magill Estate vines continue to produce exceptional quality fruit from dry-grown, hand-pruned and hand-harvested vines.

Magill Estate Shiraz has a distinctive character, showcasing monopole characters of intense floral, blackberry, aniseed aromas, and smooth richness.
